Information from consultant representative for Wiltshire Council regarding resurfacing works programmed along Church Street, Royal Wootton Bassett. The site extents can be viewed on the drawing attached.
“These works involve the resurfacing of the existing carriageway and the adjustment of surface ironwork.
The works will commence on Tuesday 18th April 2017 and will be completed by Wednesday 26th April 2017 during weekdays only between the hours of 07:00 and 18:00, however, on occasions they may over run due to uncontrollable circumstances such as plant breakdowns, if weather conditions are unfavourable, or occasionally we discover the need for additional repairs once the work has started. There will be advance information signs erected on site giving confirmed start dates.
Due to the nature of the works and the local environment, the works will be carried out within a temporary road closure, to ensure that adequate health & safety is maintained for the contractor & local residents.
The Contractor will maintain pedestrian access for the duration of the works; but due to the nature of the works, disruption is inevitable and vehicular access will be restricted. It is essential that the road remains un-trafficked until the new material has set, as early trafficking could lead to premature failure. Dedicated traffic management operatives at the extent of the works will monitor access and give motorists assistance.
Residents of Church Street will be able to use the Boroughfields Car Park during the works. The letter will need to be visible from the car to ensure you do not receive a penalty notice. Please see attached a map indicating where the car park is located.
I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any inconvenience these works will cause, but trust you will appreciate the necessity for these essential works to maintain Wiltshire’s highway network.”
