Local Groups receive Grant Aid
Four community groups in Royal Wootton Bassett have received a financial helping hand from Royal Wootton Bassett Town Councillors after successfully applying for Grant Aid.
The Royal Wootton Bassett Town Rotary received £200.00 to provide an afternoon where Senior Citizens of the town are provided with a high-quality Tea Party and musical entertainment. The organisation and manning of the event will be run by Rotary Club members and supporters.
The Bassett in Bloom Community Group received £200.00 to help towards the annual competition costs. Bassett in Bloom is a free annual gardening competition for all residents of Royal Wootton Bassett.
The Royal Wootton Bassett (Men’s) Shed received £800.00 to help towards the costs of helping the community with various projects and to sustain the shed. The group have been involved with many projects, to list a few; refurbished high street benches and memorial garden benches, built planters for schools. They continue to offer their many skillsets within our local community.
The Royal Wootton Bassett Petanque Club received £800.00 to help towards introducing the game of Petanque, commonly called Boules, to children at Royal Wootton Bassett Academy. The grant is required to purchase twenty-five sets to give a variety of sizes for the children to choose from.
