Community Grants Awarded – November 2024
Royal Wootton Bassett Town Council’s Revenue and Resources Committee awarded 3 local organisations a community grant following a presentation by representatives from each group at the meeting on Thursday 21st November 2024.
The grant budget available at this meeting was £1,461 (previous grants have been awarded throughout the year) and once the committee had heard each presentation, it was agreed to distribute the remaining funds equally between the 3 groups.
The RWB Shed who are a group of local people who undertake various projects primarily with wood to make items for residents of Royal Wootton Bassett as well as the Town Council. The group who recently secured a new location at Crapper and Sons were awarded £487 to help develop the new site with necessary equipment and facilities. Wiltshire Hope and Harmony, a community organisation who offer therapeutic services such as the RWB Dementia Choir and Tunes, Chill and Chat groups and were awarded £487 to assist with advertising and equipment costs. For more information on Wiltshire Hope and Harmony please contact Lisa Williams.
St Bartholomew’s Church Flower Guild were awarded £487 towards the costs of flowers for floral displays in the Church which members of the guild change fortnightly as well as putting on extra displays at Christmas, Easter, Harvest Time and Civic Functions.

The grant applications are now closed for 2024 however, the Town Council are currently reviewing the grant aid process with a view to have a dedicated Revenue and Resources meeting to award community grants once or twice per year. If your group or organisation wishes to apply for grant aid, please keep an eye out on the Town Council Facebook page and website for the timeline for applications for 2025/26.
All grant recipients will be invited to attend the Annual Town Meeting to explain how the grant was used and the difference it made.
