Following the recent work on the trees at Jubilee Lake and Manor House by our specialist contractor, our Grounds Team have been carrying out further maintenance work across the town.

For the second phase of this important work, we have appointed another specialist contractor to carry out work, this is due to the size and/or location of the trees. This work starts at Manor House on Thursday 15th August 2024.

Our contractor will then be moving around the town dealing with individual trees that have been identified for maintenance, pollarding, or removal due to them being dangerous, dead or diseased. There will be work at the following locations for approximately 3 weeks, depending on the weather, including;

Manor House
Allotments
Cemetery
Churchill Roundabout
OId Court Park
New Road Park
Woodshaw Park

The play areas in each park will remain open as the trees to be worked on are not located near the play equipment.

The preparation of this work includes ensuring there are no nesting birds, consideration for the potential of bats, the protection of wildflowers in the areas impacted, and any permissions required across the conservation area.

To ensure these necessary works are carried out as efficiently and safely as possible please do not approach the contractors whilst they are on site.
