Festive Fun for all the Family – Celebrate the Christmas Season with Royal Wootton Bassett Orchestra
Royal Wootton Bassett Orchestra are holding their popular Christmas Concert on Saturday December 17th. Starting at 7.00 pm in St. Bartholomew’s and All Saints Church, Royal Wootton Bassett the concert will include a wide range of well-known Christmas music, featuring Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite and Christmas Waltz, Mozart’s Sleigh Ride, Christmas at the Movies and Fanny Mendelssohn’s Prayer on Christmas among others. Children from local primary schools will also be performing. There will be singalong carols and mulled wine and mince pies will be served in the interval.

The Christmas concert will be the culmination of the orchestra’s 40th Anniversary Celebrations. It follows our special 40th Anniversary Concert in October which showcased talented members of the orchestra. The music chosen highlighted the orchestra’s versatility with favourites from each decade of the orchestra’s history.
Looking ahead the orchestra will be performing in Malmesbury Abbey on April 22, 2023. The concert will feature English composers notably Parry’s Symphony 3, The English and local soloist, Sara Stagg, performing The Lark Arising by Vaughan Williams.

The orchestra is back to full strength after the pandemic and we’re looking forward to exciting times over the next year.
