Remembrance Events

A Remembrance Sunday parade and open-air service takes place every year on Remembrance Sunday. We gather to remember the fallen, to pay our respects and gratitude to those who lost their lives in World War I, World War II and other conflicts. The parade is always well attended with over 300 people marching down the High Street to the War Memorial. A service is given by the Royal British Legion Royal Wootton Bassett Branch along with Revered Canon Jane Curtis from St Bartholomew & All Saints Church.

Royal Wootton Bassett Town Council, the Royal Wootton Bassett branch of the Royal British Legion and residents also gather to hold an act of remembrance on Armistice Day every year. The short service is held by the War Memorial with a two-minute silence being held at 11am.

Royal Wootton Bassett Town Council are incredibly grateful to all who are involved in organising and making the above events possible. We thank everyone who attends to show their respect and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives for us, their country and for our freedom.
