Royal Wootton Bassett Town Crier Competition 2020
Due to the ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic and based on the guidelines from the Government and Public Health England, it is with a heavy heart and regret that the Town Crier, Owen Collier has made the decision to cancel this year’s biennial Royal Wootton Bassett Town Crier Competition that was to be held on Saturday 19th September 2020.
Despite the current situation and regulations, it was hoped the restrictions would have eased enough for the competition to run in a safe but enjoyable manner for all entrants, but it was felt this cannot be achieved this year.
The next Town Crier Competition had been scheduled to take place on Saturday 17th September 2022 however, due to the sad passing of Her Majesty The Queen, the competition was cancelled. A new date is currently being looked into.
Owen would like to thank Town Criers across the UK and residents of the town for the continued support he has received and wishes one and all to take care and stay safe.
Events 2019
