Wootton Bassett Memorial Hall is centrally situated in the town centre within walking distance of the High Street Shops. Royal Wootton Bassett is a typical market town with a long High Street with bustling shops, pubs, restaurants, broadening to allow space for its market; one that is thriving and is still held every Wednesday. Situated close to the M4 junction 16 exit. Swindon, Lyneham, Malmesbury and Cricklade are the neighbouring towns.
The Memorial Hall consists of:-
- A main hall that has a stage, bar lounge & bar facilities and a large kitchen.
- The Upper Room, can hold up to 20 persons, is self-contained with hot and cold running water sink also a microwave and kettle.
- The Committee/Dressing Room is self-contained and can hold 20 people.
- The Hall has a large car park, and disabled access and separate disabled toilet.
- The Hall is a licenced premise and has a full alcohol licence.
- The Hall is a Polling Station and also an emergency Rest Centre.
Room 1: Main Hall.
Capacity 200 closely seated or 140 using tables and chairs.
This room is 17m long and 10m wide (excluding the stage). The main entrance, accessed through the lobby, is at the opposite end of the stage. The Bar Lounge and Bar is situated on the right of the Hall and the Kitchen is on the left. The stage has full lighting and spot lights. The Hall has amplified sound through 2 speakers. Hand held, static microphones are available for use with this equipment can be hired on request for a small fee.
The Hall is central heated and the floor kept highly polished for dancing. The Hall can seat 200 max. for theatre productions and 140 max. for Dinner functions. There are 19 large and 18 small oblong tables. 240 chairs. There is also 20 small round occasional tables.
The Hall has fire regulations in force that all hirers must comply with.
Room 2: The Upper Room.
Capacity 20 persons.
This room is carpeted and is ideal for Committee Meetings, Reception area, Group Meetings etc. 3 Tables and 20 chairs are stored there for use. There is a microwave for cooking and heating food and a sink with hot and cold running water, plus an electric kettle. This room is accessed via the main lobby and a flight of stairs.
Room 3: A side room.
Capacity 20 persons.
This room is suitable as a Stage Dressing Room and can be divided making two Dressing Rooms. This room is suitable to use for Committee Meetings, Reading and Arts room. The room is situated off of the main Hall but can also be accessed through an outer side door.
Kitchen Facilities.
Large Kitchen with two sinks, both with Hot & Cold water, Eight Hob Cooker Range, Microwave, Dishwasher, Fridge, Freezer, Plate/Food Warming Unit, Hot Water Urn, Electric Kettle/ordinary Kettles and good amount of working surface. A limited amount of crockery. For large events, the caterer needs to supply their own crockery and cutlery.
