Remembrance Services 2026

Remembrance Sunday & Armistice Day 2026

Our Remembrance Services will be held on Sunday 8th November 2026 for Remembrance Sunday and Wednesday 11th November 2026 for Armistice Day.

Remembrance Parade – Sunday 8th November 2026 (2:15pm)

A Remembrance Sunday parade and open-air service will take place around the War Memorial on the High Street in Royal Wootton Bassett. We gather to remember the fallen, to pay our respects and to show our gratitude to those who lost their lives in conflicts.

The parade will be attended by members of the Royal British Legion Royal Wootton Bassett Branch, local organisations, uniformed groups and members of the community. The service will be led by representatives of local churches. Click on front cover image to download a copy of the order of service.

Armistice Day – Wednesday 11th November 2026 (11:00am)

A special day of remembrance when we remember the service personnel of all nations who gave their lives for our freedom. A short service will be held at 10.50am, followed by a two-minute silence at 11am, by the War Memorial on the High Street. All are welcome to attend.

Safety Briefing

There is a road closure in place on Sunday 8th November 2026 and in the event of an emergency the stewards will sound an airhorn. When the airhorn is sounded, we kindly ask that the High Street is cleared in a calm and orderly fashion.

Royal Wootton Bassett Town Council would like to thank everyone involved in organising and making these events possible. We thank everyone who attends to show their respect and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

The wreaths that are laid at the War Memorial following these services will be respecfully moved to the Royal British Legion’s Garden of Remembrance in Downs View Cemetery in the coming weeks.
