In England, people can now leave their home to exercise and spend time outdoors for recreation with their household or in groups of up to six people from outside their household. To stay safe, the public must:
- take hygiene precautions when they are outside
- wash their hands as soon as they are back indoors
- keep at least two metres apart from anyone outside their household at all times
- take hand sanitiser with them when they set off in case there are no handwashing facilities
The guidance (available here) includes an updated list of what the public can now do, as well as a reminder to respect other people and protect the natural environment.
The Cabinet Office’s FAQ document on what the public can and cannot do, and the guidance on staying alert and safe has been updated accordingly.
22 May 2020 – The grounds maintenance team are back at work, we kindly ask residents to respect staff whilst they work in the park and observe social distancing.
Jacqui Woolford Memorial Park is an open public space which was donated to the town by the Woolford family in memory of their daughter who tragically passed away at a young age. The area has been landscaped by the Town Council Grounds Team for visitors to enjoy whilst also considering the natural environment and the planting to benefit the wildlife. At the far end of the park, separated by a kissing gate, is a Nature Reserve. The Town Council are currently working with a Wildlife Area Management Plan to ensure this area, remains enriched with wildlife, with as little input as possible. To aid in this endeavour a man-made pond has been constructed to attract a variety of insects.
