Grants Success!

Royal Wootton Bassett Town Council are celebrating having successfully secured over £200,000 in external grant funding during the 2024/2025 financial year.

Since April 2024 the Chief Officer, supported by Town Council officers, have dedicated their efforts to access vital funding for both Town Council and Trusts (Wootton Bassett Memorial Hall and Town Hall) projects.

The Town Council are delighted to have been awarded significant funding from Community First, who manage and administrates the Landfill Communities Fund in Wiltshire and Swindon. The following projects have benefitted:

• £64,000 –towards the for the resurfacing of the Memorial Hall carpark.
• £5,000 – towards the renovation of the 2 historic maces.
• £16,000 – towards new furniture for the Memorial Hall including chairs and tables, children’s tables and chairs and 2 table trolleys.
• £25,000 – towards the replacement play park equipment at New Road toddler park
• £90,000 towards the funding of a new Multi Use Games Area – a project which is currently in progress and the Town Council will be engaging with residents in the near future.

The Town Council have also secured £20,000 of funding from the Wiltshire Towns Programme for 2025/26 as well as £20,000 for 2026/27 financial years. This grant supports activity on the high street to meet the needs of local communities.

At recent Area Board meetings, the Town Council were successful in obtaining:

• £5,000 towards the new furniture for the Memorial Hall.
• £5,000 towards enhancing the youth provision services in conjunction with the RISE Trust.

External funding is an important source of income to the Town Council, and we are committed to continuously seeking grants which will help us bring project ideas to life and creating valuable assets for Royal Wootton Bassett without using the council precept or the Trust funds.
