Poetsfield Play Park
2 December 2020 – This playground area is open to the public. Please take note of the notices [see poster on the right] posted around the area with guidance on keeping users, parents, carers safe.
Accessing green space and exercise; the Government updates its guidance on accessing green spaces and undertaking exercise safely regularly so please keep checking the link for the latest advice. To stay safe, the public must:
- take hygiene precautions when they are outside
- wash their hands as soon as they are back indoors
- keep at least two metres apart from anyone outside their household at all times
- take hand sanitiser with them when they set off in case there are no handwashing facilities
The guidance includes an updated list of what the public can now do, as well as a reminder to respect other people and protect the natural environment.
The Cabinet Office’s FAQ document on what the public can and cannot do, and the guidance on staying alert and safe has been updated accordingly.
22 May 2020 – Also The grounds maintenance team are back at work, we kindly ask residents to respect staff whilst they work in the park and observe social distancing.

Poetsfield Play Park can be found via Byron Avenue using postcode SN4 8JU.
This play area has a very large playing field for all ages to have a kick about (goal posts provided), a game of basket ball or a picnic! Children can cycle to the park and secure their bikes with our cycle rack.
The park itself has two play areas; one for toddlers designed for children under 5 with a wide range of equipment including “Ahoy me hearties” pirate ship and a junior play area for children over 5 which includes a table tennis table, basket swing, a surfboard swing and lots more!
